Methodist Men

Our Purpose:
We as Methodist Men encourage and support spiritual growth and faith development in our church and our community.  We encourage participation in the diverse ministries of our church.
Through study, prayer, service, and fellowship, we strive to be an example not only to each other, but also the younger men and boys in our congregation.  Methodist Men help each other to become stronger disciples in Christ and grow into service roles within the church community.

Bob Carmichael - Chairman
Joe Williams – Vice Chairman
Hector Escamilla – Treasurer

Meetings are usually held the second Saturday of each month at 8 AM and feature breakfast, fellowship, and an opportunity to plan service projects to benefit the church. (Check the calendar for date changes).

Our Projects:

The Methodist Men sponsor special service projects including repairs around the church, our all-church Easter breakfast, and funding scholarships for graduating high school young men.

Christ United Methodist Men offer $1000 scholarships for our male graduates and for those currently enrolled in college or trade school.  We consider this a mission opportunity to help our young men as they prepare for the future.
All young men who are and have been members of Christ United Methodist Church of Farmers Branch, TX for not less than two years and who graduate from an accredited high school or home school study program are eligible for selection of scholarships to be used for tuition, room, board, or related expenses for college or trade school in the fall of the year in which the scholarship is awarded. Those currently enrolled in college or trade school may also be considered.
The criteria for this scholarship include your involvement in CUMC or another United Methodist Church, service to your community, high school scholastic achievement and activities.  The committee has decided to weigh CUMC involvement more heavily than other factors.  The selection will be made without regard to race or national origin.
To be considered, each applicant must submit a completed application (see download link below), an essay and letters of recommendation These must be received in the Church office by April 20th to be eligible.
