United
Methodist Men

Our Purpose:
We as Methodist Men encourage and support spiritual growth and faith development in our church and our community.  We encourage participation in the diverse ministries of our church.
Through study, prayer, service, and fellowship, we strive to be an example not only to each other, but also the younger men and boys in our congregation.  Methodist Men help each other to become stronger disciples in Christ and grow into service roles within the church community.

Officers:

Bob Carmichael - Chairman
Joe Williams – Vice Chairman
Hector Escamilla – Treasurer

Meetings:

Meetings are usually held the second Saturday of each month at 8 AM and feature breakfast, fellowship, and an opportunity to plan service projects to benefit the church. (Check the calendar for date changes).

Our Projects:

The Methodist Men sponsor special service projects including repairs around the church, our all-church Easter breakfast, and funding scholarships for graduating high school young men.

UMM Scholarship

Christ United Methodist Men (UMM) are offering one or more scholarships for our male high school graduates and for those currently enrolled in college or trade school. We consider this a mission opportunity to help our young men as they prepare for the future. This scholarship can be used for tuition, room & board, and/or other related expenses for college or trade school. The selections of persons to be awarded the scholorship will be made without regard to race or national origin.

Choosing which applicants will receive a scholarship will be a difficult task, therefore, the remainder of this document provides information that, when completed, will help us to select the recipients.

Criteria:
  • Involvement in Christ UMC or other United Methodist Church (will be weighed more heavily than other factors)
  • Service to the Community
  • High School Scholastic Achievement and Activities

While various circumstances still exist for potential applicants, all applicationsreceived will be consideredregardless of submission date. The preferred date for consideration is by April 15th. While there is not a firm date for submission, to allow time for consideration and awards before fall semesters begin, submissions should be made as soon as possible.
