Senior Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church

Dr. Victor (Vic) Earle Casad has served as the senior pastor of Christ United Methodist Church since June 2002.

Before becoming Christ Church’s senior pastor, Vic served the congregation at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in North Carrollton for eight years. He has also served as the pastor of First United Methodist Church in Farmersville (1989-1994); Valley View United Methodist Church, Valley View (1986-1989); and South Bend United Methodist Church in Gainesville, Georgia (1983-1986), a church he served while earning his Master of Divinity degree with honors from Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta.

While serving his churches in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church, Vic also returned to SMU’s Perkins School of Theology to obtain a Doctor of Ministry degree with honors, in 1994.

A graduate of Sunset High School in Dallas and Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 1972, Vic worked in the cable television and radio business for five years before joining the Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of America as a District Executive in 1976. He was assigned to Grand Prairie, Texas, then Arlington, Texas out of the Longhorn Council in Fort Worth.  In the spring of 1983 he resigned to heed a call to the ministry and work for his theological degree at Emory.

Vic was a delegate to the World Methodist Conference in Brighton, England, in 2001 and South Korea in 2006.  His missions resumé includes trips to Mallco Rancho, Bolivia (1987 and 1989) to help build a clinic, as well as two trips to Zimbabwe and Africa University. While in college he traveled to Vietnam and military bases throughout the Caribbean performing with the USO.

He is married to Mary Brooke Oliphint Casad.  Mary Brooke is currently employed by the Connectional Table of the United Methodist Church as its Executive Secretary. She is the daughter of the late Bishop Ben Oliphint, who was serving as senior pastor of First United Methodist Church in Dallas before being elected a United Methodist bishop. Mary Brooke also is the author of the “Bluebonnet the Armadillo” children’s book series.

Vic and Mary Brooke have two adult sons, McCrae and Carter.  McCrae and his wife Melissa live in Denver, Colorado with their two sons, Victor Revol and Patrick Raydon.  Carter is a recent graduate of the University of Colorado living in Boulder.

Vic is the son of the late Dr. Gordon Casad, a long-time minister and district superintendent in the North Texas Conference and Dede Weldon Casad, a noted Texas author.
