Dr.
Victor (Vic) Earle Casad has served as the senior pastor of Christ
United Methodist Church since June 2002.
Before becoming Christ Church’s senior
pastor, Vic served the congregation at Aldersgate United Methodist
Church in North Carrollton for eight years. He has also served as the
pastor of First United Methodist Church in Farmersville (1989-1994);
Valley View United Methodist Church, Valley View (1986-1989); and
South Bend United Methodist Church in Gainesville, Georgia
(1983-1986), a church he served while earning his Master of Divinity
degree with honors from Candler School of Theology at Emory University
in Atlanta.
While serving
his churches in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist
Church, Vic also returned to SMU’s Perkins School of Theology to
obtain a Doctor of Ministry degree with honors, in 1994.
A graduate of
Sunset High School in Dallas and Southern Methodist University (SMU)
in 1972, Vic worked in the cable television and radio business for
five years before joining the Circle Ten Council of the Boy Scouts of
America as a District Executive in 1976. He was assigned to Grand
Prairie, Texas, then Arlington, Texas out of the Longhorn Council in
Fort Worth. In the spring of 1983 he resigned to heed a call to
the ministry and work for his theological degree at Emory.
Vic was a
delegate to the World Methodist Conference in Brighton, England, in
2001 and South Korea in 2006. His missions resumé
includes trips to Mallco Rancho, Bolivia (1987 and 1989)
to help build a clinic, as well as two trips
to Zimbabwe and Africa University. While in college he traveled to
Vietnam and military bases throughout the Caribbean performing with
the USO.
He is married
to Mary Brooke Oliphint Casad. Mary Brooke is currently employed
by the Connectional Table of the United Methodist Church as its
Executive Secretary. She is the daughter of the late Bishop Ben
Oliphint, who was serving as senior pastor of First United Methodist
Church in Dallas before being elected a United Methodist bishop. Mary
Brooke also is the author of the “Bluebonnet the Armadillo” children’s
book series.
Vic and Mary
Brooke have two adult sons, McCrae and Carter. McCrae and his
wife Melissa live in Denver, Colorado with their two sons, Victor
Revol and Patrick Raydon. Carter is a recent graduate of the
University of Colorado living in Boulder.
Vic is the son
of the late Dr. Gordon Casad, a long-time minister and district
superintendent in the North Texas Conference and Dede Weldon Casad, a
noted Texas author.
