Together
with the psalmist, Music Ministry at Christ Church celebrates and
worships God with voices and instruments, involving over 250
participants in the music groups.
The congregation at CUMC
would like to welcome Trevor Shaw as our new Director of Music
Ministry! Trevor comes to us from Lake Cities UMC in Lake Dallas
where he directed the music program. Trevor has also been directing
the 30 person choir of the Wesley Foundation at the University of
North Texas where he received his BA Music Performance. He comes to
us with a wide range of music experience and abilities including
choral and band direction. Additionally, Trevor is an accomplished
instrumentalist, composer, and arranger.
The music ministry is congregation-oriented. At times, throughout
the year, the congregation selects hymns during the service. A continuous
list of hymn requests is placed into the offering plates as well.
The music staff believes that our ministry is FOR, not TO, the congregation.
A variety of vocal and handbell choirs are available for those who
wish to participate. Experience and formal training are not required,
only the desire to praise God through music.
Please
consider joining one of our music programs:
